University tuition is determined by the Board of Trustees of The University of Alabama in June and is subject to change each year.

The cost of a legal education at The University of Alabama School of Law is quite low compared with that at private law schools; it also compares favorably with the tuition at other state-supported schools.

Similarly, the Alabama MBA program is consistently ranked in the top in the nation for return on investment, due to both affordable tuition and solid starting salaries upon graduation.

  • Manderson School of Business Scholarships
    • Graduate Council Fellowships: Based upon departmental nomination, the Graduate School annually awards nonrenewable Graduate Council Fellowships, which include full tuition scholarships and stipends of approximately $15,000 per academic year. Recipients for the coming academic year are selected at three times: the first week in February, the first week in March, and the first week in April. As a rule, only students who have completed no more than 60 semester hours of graduate credit are eligible, and preference is given to students just beginning their graduate programs. No service to the University is required, but recipients must carry a 12-hour load of graduate courses each semester.
    • MBA Scholarships: A number of scholarships are available to MBA students each year with the amounts usually ranging from $2,000 – $10,000 for an academic year. Scholarships are awarded after students are accepted into the program.
    • National Alumni Association (NAA) Graduate Fellowship Program: The funding source of this fellowship is the National Alumni Association’s Collegiate License Tag Endowed Graduate Education Fund. This fellowship includes a $14,000 stipend plus full in-state tuition scholarships for one academic year. No service to the University is required. The nominations are based on the students’ academic and professional records and their potential to make an outstanding contribution during their careers to the lives of the people of the state of Alabama. The academic departments make nominations of Alabama residents in early April each year for these fellowships.
    • Alumni Heritage Graduate Scholarship: Effective January 2001, the Heritage scholarship was established to reward the children and grandchildren of University of Alabama alumni for choosing the University for their higher education. The scholarship is a 1-year, nonrenewable award for 10% of in-state tuition. In order to qualify, students must be enrolled full-time (9 hours of graduate classes) and have a parent or grandparent who both 1) holds a degree (undergraduate, graduate, or law) from the University and 2) has been an active member of the Alumni Association for 3 of the past 5 years. For more information, contact Kathleen Nodine at the Graduate School, P.O. Box 870118, Tuscaloosa, AL, 35487-0118; telephone (205) 348-5921.
