2-3 HoursA study of the basic legal framework of special education in the United States, focusing on the effects of the federal Individuals with Disabilities Education Act on local education units. Other topics will include the application of general civil rights laws such as the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Rehabilitation Act, constitutional limitations on school authorities, and federalism.
