J. Scott England

J. Scott England teaches Legal Research and Writing at the School of Law. Scott earned a B.A. in political science, summa cum laude, from Northeast Missouri State University (now Truman State University) in 1995. He earned his J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law, where he was an associate editor of the Northwestern University Law Review and a John Henry Wigmore Scholar, in 1998. From 1998 to 2000, Scott was a litigation associate with Hopkins & Sutter (now Foley & Lardner) in Chicago, where he practiced in the areas of insurance insolvency and public utilities. Prior to his employment with the School of Law, Scott worked as a staff attorney for the Illinois Criminal Code Rewrite and Reform Commission, and assisted in the drafting of a proposed criminal code for Illinois.
