Kimberly Boone

Ms. Boone is a magna cum laude graduate of the University of Alabama School of Law. During law school, she was elected to Order of the Coif and Order of the Barristers. She was also a member of the Alabama Law Review, the John A. Campbell Moot Court Board, and the Jessup International Moot Court Team. Before joining the faculty, she practiced law with Lehr Middlebrooks Price & Proctor, P.C. (now Lehr Middlebrooks & Vreeland, P.C.), in Birmingham, Alabama, specializing in employment law matters, including defending employers at the EEOC level and in litigation against charges of harassment and discrimination. She also assisted her clients in creating employee handbooks, conducting internal investigations, and providing EEO training. Ms. Boone was also a contributing editor of the Alabama Employment Law Letter and the Alabama Employer's Desk Manual. Before joining Lehr Middlebrooks, Ms. Boone practiced insurance defense litigation with Spain & Gillon, LLC, in Birmingham. She received her undergraduate education at Huntingdon College, graduating magna cum laude.
Ms. Boone has taught Legal Writing since July 2000 and was appointed director of the Legal Writing Program in 2003. Ms. Boone has recently contributed to Professor Andrew McClurg's new book, 1L of a Ride: A Well-Traveled Professor's Roadmap to Success in the First Year of Law School (Thomson West 2008). Ms. Boone is one of the legal writing professors interviewed in the chapter entitled "Legal Research and Writing: An Interview with Five Experts."
