Kimberly Boone

Professor Boone graduated magna cum laude from Huntingdon College and the University of Alabama School of Law. During law school, she was a member of the Alabama Law Review, the Moot Court Board, and the Jessup International Law Moot Court Team. She was also elected to Order of the Coif and Order of the Barristers. Before joining the faculty in 2000, she practiced law in Birmingham, representing clients at the EEOC level, in litigation, and on appeal. She also created employee handbooks, assisted clients in conducting internal investigations, and provided EEO training.

Professor Boone has taught Legal Writing since 2000 and was named Director in 2003. She also supervises the 2L Moot Court Competition and the Moot Court Board. She was honored to be named the Student Bar Association’s Outstanding Faculty Member in 2013 and to receive the UA National Alumni Association’s Outstanding Commitment to Teaching Award in 2015. Professor Boone has presented at many regional and national legal writing conferences and has also contributed to Professor Andrew McClurg's book, 1L of a Ride: A Well-Traveled Professor's Roadmap to Success in the First Year of Law School. She is interviewed in the chapter entitled "Legal Research and Writing: An Interview with Five Experts."
