Alabama Law Welcomes PLUS Participants for Virtual Program

July 6, 2020

The Alabama School of Law welcomes the third class of the Alabama LSAC Pre-Law Undergraduate Scholars Program.

The PLUS program, funded by a $300,000 grant from the Law School Admission Council, helps prepare students for the law school admission process, success in law school, and careers in the legal profession.

This year, the Law School is hosting a virtual PLUS Program for 25 students who live in 17 states. Due to the pandemic, the program has moved entirely online.

The four-week program includes two core components: Contracts and Legal Writing. Students will attend sessions on the law school admission process, special topics, personal and professional development, as well as participate in weekly community-building activities.

The PLUS program attracts promising students from groups that are historically underrepresented in the legal profession, from socioeconomically disadvantaged backgrounds, as well as students facing other significant barriers to entering the legal profession.
