A Day In the Life of a Public Interest Lawyer

Join us to learn about careers in public interest law! This program will be especially helpful for 1Ls and 2Ls preparing to apply for summer internships, but everyone is welcome. Hear from practicing public interest attorneys about their career paths, the organizations where they work, and what a typical day at their job is like.

Our featured speakers will be:

  • Rhonda Brownstein, Legal Director at Alabama Disabilities Advocacy Program (ADAP) [and formerly with Southern Poverty Law Center]
  • Akiesha Anderson (UA Law ’17), Policy Director at Alabama Appleseed
  • Alison Mollman, Staff Attorney at Equal Justice Initiative
  • Alex Darby (UA Law ’15), Research & Writing Attorney at the Federal Public Defenders Office for the Northern District of Alabama
