This spring, the law school expects to offer a course in offshore financial transactions. This two credit course travels to Grand Cayman during spring break to learn about offshore finance. The Cayman Islands are headquarters to more than 600 bank and trust companies. The course focuses on captive insurance, insurance linked securities, asset securitization, and hedge funds. While in Grand Cayman, students will learn directly from accountants, attorneys, bankers, and financial regulators. Past course participants have developed meaningful professional contacts with offshore financial professionals. Students will also have free time to explore the island’s world-class beaches. After participating in the course, students will be able assist clients in evaluating international business strategies. The course is co-offered with Texas A&M School of Law.
