Judge Frank M. Johnson, Jr. Centennial Symposium and Law Clerks Reunion

January 23-24, 2019 – The Frank M. Johnson, Jr. Federal Courthouse, Montgomery

The United States Court for the Middle District of Alabama will host events in Montgomery on the evening of Wednesday, January 23 and Thursday, January 24. The FMJ-100 Centennial Celebration will include tributes from State and National Civil Rights leaders, a symposium in the Historic Courthouse, Four Little Girls: Birmingham 1963 at the Alabama Shakespeare Festival. Details regarding the Montgomery Centennial Celebration will be available in early December to symposium registrants.

January 25, 2019 – Hugh F. Culverhouse Jr. School of Law at The University of Alabama

Legal scholars and experts will discuss voting rights, equality, civil rights, and the role of federal courts in securing institutional reform at the Judge Frank M. Johnson, Jr. Centennial Symposium & Law Clerks Reunion. The Hon. Guido Calabresi, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, will provide the Keynote Address.
