Clinic - Civil - LAW 665

4 Hours

Students in this clinic provide free legal advice and representation to university students in civil cases and to members of the community on domestic relations matters. Clinic interns handle cases from intake interview through negotiation and to trial, if necessary, in small claims, district or circuit court. The clinic's caseload encompasses a wide variety of legal claims, including consumer law, debt collection defense, child custody and support, domestic violence, insurance, torts, housing, and other civil matters. For the first hour of registration, enrollment is limited to third-year students. After that, second-year students may also enroll. (PS)
