Special Topics in Law: Gun Law Seminar - LAW 731

This course explores the law surrounding firearms.  The scope of the Second Amendment right to bear arms is a primary focus.  We will examine gun laws relating to persons, types of weapons, manner of carrying and storing, and place restrictions.  Students will select a topic and execute a research paper.  At the conclusion of the course, students should be able to: (1) demonstrate knowledge of basic legal rules relating to firearms; (2) develop an expertise on one topic in this area; and (3) analyze critically the policies and rules relating to firearms.
