Brandi A. Russell, a native of Birmingham, Alabama, earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from The University of Alabama and her Juris Doctor degree from Cumberland School of Law of Samford University.
Ms. Russell joined the Law School in October 2018. Prior to joining the Law School, Ms. Russell was the Director of Admissions and Financial Aid, and before that the Assistant Director of Admissions and Recruitment, at Mercer University School of Law. As Director, she assisted with management of the application process, oversaw the scholarship distribution process, and provided a comprehensive financial literacy program in compliance with federal regulations and institutional guidelines. As Assistant Director, she oversaw all recruitment activities and served as a primary point of contact with internal and external constituents, including students, pre-law advisors, alumni, faculty, and staff. Prior to her time at Mercer, she worked as an Admissions Counselor at Savannah Law School.
Currently, Ms. Russell is responsible for recruiting prospective applicants and traveling to represent the Law School at various recruitment and panel events, as well as national forums. She also assists with on-campus open houses. Her experience extends beyond admissions to areas of diversity and inclusion, financial aid, and marketing.
