Mr. James is senior counsel in the Birmingham, Alabama office of Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz, P.C. His practice focuses on employment law and he counsels on issues related to numerous labor and employment laws, including Title VII and the ADA. Mr. James has been awarded the Sam W. Pipes Distinguished Alumnus Award by the University of Alabama School of Law and recognized in Alabama Super Lawyers, The Best Lawyers in America, and AV Preeminent Peer Review Rated by Martindale-Hubbell. Frank is currently a trustee and a past chairman of the Board of Directors for the YMCA of Metro Birmingham; member of the Board of Directors, Board of Pensions, Presbyterian Church; past director of Kiwanis Club of Birmingham; and past President of the University of Alabama Law School Foundation Board of Directors. He was a Colonel in the United States Army; clerked for the Honorable Virgil Pittman, S.D. AL; served as an Assistant United States Attorney; and was a Professor of Law at the University of Alabama School of Law. Mr. James received his undergraduate degree from Campbell College and his J.D. from the University of Alabama School of Law.

Carey McRae

Carey McRae, a partner in the Birmingham office of Bradley Arant Boult Cummings, represents a broad spectrum of healthcare providers, including hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, home health agencies, psychiatric hospitals, and inpatient rehabilitation hospitals in connection with their state and federal regulatory issues as well as certain litigation matters involving regulatory, peer review, and reimbursement issues. In addition to being recognized as Birmingham's 2015 Lawyer of the Year in Health Care Law, he has been listed in the Best Lawyers in America and Alabama Super Lawyers and has served as an Adjunct Professor of Law at both Cumberland School of Law and the University of Alabama School of Law. Carey received his B.A. from Vanderbilt University in 1988 where he was on the Dean's List and was recognized among the Outstanding College Students of America; his J.D. from the University of Alabama School of Law in 1992 where he served as Lead Articles Editor of the Alabama Law Review; and his M.S. from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1997.

SAMUEL E. STUMPF, JR. Sam Stumpf is a member of the firm Bass, Berry & Sims, PLC, in Nashville, Tennessee. He focuses primarily on privately-held companies, counseling clients on mergers and acquisitions and private equity and venture capital transactions. He is also experienced in working with franchisors and franchisees in franchise system formation; franchise agreement negotiations and franchise regulatory matters; investment managers in the formation of hedge funds and other investment partnerships; and investment advisors and broker-dealers in a variety of registration and compliance matters. Cathy Wright is a founder and principal of Clarus Consulting Group, a consultancy specializing in organizational development, communications, training, strategic and business planning and facilitation. Prior to founding Clarus Consulting Group, Ms. Wright was a founding member and shareholder of Maynard Cooper & Gale, P.C., Birmingham, Alabama, where her practice focused on business litigation. Ms. Wright served as law clerk for United States District Judge Frank M. Johnson upon her graduation from law school. Ms. Wright has served as a practitioner-in-residence and as Adjunct Faculty, University of Alabama School of Law; Adjunct Faculty, Samford University Cumberland School of Law; and Instructor, Duke University?s Environmental Leadership (DEL) Program. Ms. Wright is the author of A Report on the Status of Women in Leadership in Alabama, published by the Alabama Women?s Initiative (2002).
