J. ALAN BATY. Alan Baty is Of Counsel to the firm Frohsin & Barger, LLC. His work focuses on criminal defense, white collar cases, internal corporate investigations, and fraud victim assistance. Alan is an accomplished trial attorney who has handled over a thousand criminal cases ranging from drug possession to capital murder while serving more than eleven years as a Deputy District Attorney. Prior to his work as a prosecutor, Alan was in private practice with a Birmingham law firm. He also serves as an adjunct professor at Cumberland School of Law where he teaches basic trial advocacy skills, and has taught Legal Ethics at the Birmingham School of Law. Alan has been voted one of the top five state and federal prosecutors in Birmingham by fellow attorneys, and was a member of the Alabama State Bar Leadership Forum, Class 6. He received his undergraduate degree from Auburn University and his J.D. from the University of Alabama School of Law.
