Casey Duncan

Casey Duncan earned his B.A., magna cum laude, from Hillsdale College, his Masters of Information Science and Learning Technologies from the University of Missouri-Columbia, and his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Minnesota Law School, where he was Executive Editor of the Minnesota Journal of Global Trade.  Associate Dean Duncan teaches in the 1L Legal Research Program and Advanced Legal Research.  Prior to joining the University of Alabama School of Law, he was Director of the Law Library and Assistant Professor of Law of at the University of Wyoming College of Law where he taught Advanced Legal Research and Information Privacy Law.  He also spent nearly a decade at the University of Texas School of Law’s Tarlton Law Library where he taught numerous sections of Brief Writing and Oral Advocacy and a Texas-specific Advanced Legal Research course.  He is a member of the Nebraska State Bar (inactive) and several professional associations, including the American Association of Law Libraries (AALL) and the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).   His research interests include legal research, legal informatics, and U.S. and international law and policy related to information privacy and security.
