Created in 2000, the Public Interest Institute of the University of Alabama School of Law is dedicated to its three-part mission:
To support law students at every stage of their development into public interest lawyers through the provision of learning experiences, meaningful volunteer opportunities and career counseling.
To expose the Law School community to the need for legal assistance among low-income and under-represented populations
To foster a lifelong commitment to pro bono legal service in all law students and the desire and capacity to be leaders in the field
